We like to think of the real world as our office.
Engage ABA works with Autistic teen and young adult clients in their natural environments — observing and assessing behavior, identifying current contingencies, and then teaching replacement behaviors using reinforcement systems. It’s impossible to say exactly the skills we would work on because this depends on their everyday routines. The aim is for the client to lead as fully an independent life as possible with access to a job, a fulfilling living situation, and social opportunities. We do this in the home, community, school/college, and job settings.
Note:
It’s important to be clear that while Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) can be used to change behaviors, Engage ABA specializes in those behaviors impacted by their Autism diagnosis. Though a client might be diagnosed with Autism, Anxiety Disorder, and Dyslexia, Engage ABA will only be able to work with an Autism diagnosis. We often collaborate as part of a team to provide holistic treatment.

What is Autism?
Autism Spectrum refers to a diagnosis that is characterized by differences in social skills, verbal and non-verbal communication skills, and behaviors. There are many different types of Autism, which is why it's called a Spectrum.
At Engage ABA we meet the client where their strengths and interests are. We teach new skills and leverage their strengths to enable them to engage with the world around them. A comprehensive program will balance these two elements to build toward success.

What is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)?
Psychologist BF Skinner’s research concluded that consequences affect behavior and what occurred after the behavior governed the future responses of that behavior. This consequence can determine whether a behavior will be more likely to occur in the future. Over time if the behavior continues to increase it might become part of the behavior repertoire.
ABA is often used in many fields of study; not only in an Autism or other mental health diagnosis, but also in business, human resources, sports, and public policy. Engage ABA focuses on teaching skills for those diagnosed with Autism, which can be applied at home, in the community, at a job site, or in school.

How can ABA help?

How can ABA help?
Applied Behavior Analysis can be used across the entire day. As with anything, the more you practice the skill and receive reinforcement the more likely it is to occur in the future. Engage ABA builds a custom program around the client's strengths, meeting them in their natural environments. During treatment, typically, Engage ABA might support 3-5 days per week and the parents or client will continue the treatment on the remaining days — Our goal is that in time the client has built the skills to confidently enter the world. Independently. On their terms.
